Dubai’s coastal transformation continues to advance, with the Al Mamzar Corniche development now reaching 88% completion, marking one of the city’s most ambitious public beachfront upgrades to date. Backed by an investment of approximately Dh400 million, the project is progressing in line with delivery timelines and is positioned to redefine how public beaches are designed, used, and experienced.

The development reflects a broader shift in Dubai’s urban planning approach, where lifestyle infrastructure is being integrated with long-term economic, environmental, and social objectives. Rather than a standalone leisure upgrade, Al Mamzar Corniche is being developed as a fully integrated coastal destination.

A New Standard for Public Beaches

At the centre of the project is the introduction of Dubai’s first women-only public beach designed for night swimming, built to international standards of privacy and safety. The space will be fully enclosed, ensuring a controlled and secure environment, while expanding accessibility for a wider segment of residents.

Beyond this, the project introduces a range of interconnected features including walking, jogging, and cycling tracks, children’s play areas, fitness zones, and dedicated beach activity spaces. These elements are designed to support continuous usage throughout the day and into the evening, supported by shaded seating areas and integrated service facilities.

The inclusion of food and beverage outlets, event spaces, and a shaded skate park further positions the development as a multi-functional destination rather than a traditional beachfront.

Infrastructure Built for the Future

A key aspect of the Al Mamzar Corniche project is its focus on climate resilience and long-term sustainability. More than 500,000 cubic metres of sand have been used based on environmental studies to stabilise the shoreline and protect against future coastal impacts.

Beach levels have been elevated, and protective measures have been integrated into the design to ensure durability under changing environmental conditions. This approach aligns with Dubai’s wider infrastructure strategy, where developments are engineered not only for current demand but for future urban and climate realities.

The project also incorporates smart systems and safety technologies, including AI-supported surveillance and emergency response capabilities, ensuring operational readiness at scale.

Expanding Dubai’s Coastline

Al Mamzar Corniche is part of a larger initiative under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to increase the total length of public beaches by 400%. This expansion is not only about leisure, but also about accessibility, tourism growth, and enhancing quality of life across the city.

By connecting Al Mamzar Creek Beach with Al Mamzar Park and integrating pedestrian pathways, cycling tracks, and transport access, the project strengthens first and last mile connectivity across the area.

The development also contributes to Dubai’s positioning as a global beach tourism destination, offering a mix of privacy-focused, family-friendly, and lifestyle-driven coastal experiences.

Why This Matters

Projects like Al Mamzar Corniche highlight how Dubai continues to invest in infrastructure that directly enhances livability while supporting economic growth. High-quality public spaces increase residential appeal, drive tourism, and reinforce long-term investor confidence in surrounding communities.

The focus on integrated design, accessibility, and sustainability reflects a city that is planning ahead, not reacting. As the project moves closer to completion, it represents another step in Dubai’s ongoing transformation into a city built around experience, connectivity, and future-ready infrastructure.
