DLD: Real Estate Emiratisation Plan
Dubai Land Department Urges Emiratis to Join the Real Estate Broker Programme
The Dubai Land Department (DLD) is calling on Emirati citizens to seize a golden opportunity: the chance to become certified real estate brokers through the Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme. With interest already surging since its launch, this initiative is proving to be a strategic gateway for UAE nationals looking to build rewarding careers in Dubai’s thriving real estate sector.
Empowering Emirati Talent in Real Estate
As Dubai’s property market continues to evolve and expand, the DLD’s programme aims to increase Emirati participation in one of the emirate’s most dynamic industries. The programme offers specialised training in partnership with accredited institutions, culminating in the issuance of an official real estate broker card valid for three years. This card authorises qualified participants to operate legally as brokers within Dubai’s regulatory framework.
Why Now Is the Time to Join
Since its inception, the programme has far surpassed expectations, achieving over 180% of its annual target in Emirati broker enrolments. These new professionals have collectively contributed to real estate transactions exceeding AED 500 million, highlighting the economic potential the programme unlocks for local talent.
Additionally, 231 new real estate brokerage firms have been licensed under the initiative, reinforcing the growth and sustainability of the sector.
Strong Public-Private Collaboration
The DLD has actively engaged with 71 strategic partners to support this mission, including:
- 26 real estate developers
- 38 real estate brokerage firms
- 4 training and qualification institutions
This collaboration has created a well-connected ecosystem that enhances employment opportunities and supports the Emiratisation of the real estate industry.
New Incentive System for Brokerage Firms
To further encourage the hiring of Emiratis, the DLD will roll out an incentive points system. Brokerage firms that employ UAE nationals will receive bonus points to improve their rankings within DLD’s official evaluation framework. This not only benefits the firms competitively but also strengthens Dubai’s position as a forward-thinking real estate hub.
A Programme Aligned with Dubai Social Agenda 2033
The Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme directly supports the Dubai Social Agenda 2033, aiming to:
- Empower Emirati citizens through real estate career opportunities
- Provide licensed training and certification
- Allocate real estate projects to local brokers
- Encourage integration into existing brokerage firms
By doing so, it ensures that Emiratis can access the growing wealth of opportunities within Dubai’s booming real estate market.
